A committee was formed consisting of Judges, Prosecutors and staff for the purpose of examining this court and to make recommendations that would create a more efficient appellant.
As of January 18, 1999, the following changes will be implemented in this court:
- All motions and supporting material filed with the court office will be dealt with by the Judge in chambers prior to the hearing date. Successful applicants who are present in court on the hearing date will be directed to the Appeals office. Applicants who are not present will have their applications dismissed. Unsuccessful applicants will be given an opportunity to make further submissions to the presiding judge in court.
- Upon filing an Appeal Notice purusant to the Provincial Offences act (except for deem not to dispute) the applicant shall in all cases file a transcript of the proceedings before the Justice of the Peace.
